TSS is seeking dependable, safety-focused drivers and technicians to join our Traffic Control and Permanent Sign Installation teams. We’re looking for individuals who take pride in their work, demonstrate strong responsibility, and are committed to supporting safe and efficient roadway operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust, inspect, and remove traffic control devices following DOT and MUTCD requirements.
- Support traffic switches and lane closures on roadway and interstate projects.
- Safely drive company vehicles, load/unload equipment, and operate trailers.
- Assist with sign manufacturing and basic equipment repairs.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, message boards, forklifts, and skid steers.
- Maintain clean vehicles, equipment, and job sites.
- Communicate professionally with coworkers, customers, contractors, and engineers.
- Follow all company policies and safety procedures.
- Assist other departments—including striping, traffic control, and sign shop—to support timely project completion.
- Prepare and submit all required daily logs, time sheets, usage sheets, and job-site documentation accurately and on time.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Work Environment & Physical Expectations
- Outdoor work in all weather conditions.
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, climbing, and lifting (50+ lbs.).
- Overtime expected; schedules may vary.
- Exposure to traffic, equipment, noise, and job-site hazards.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical labor for full shifts.
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Basic math skills; ability to read maps and traffic control plans.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Reliable communication for scheduling.
- Maintain a professional, team-oriented attitude; be self-motivated and organized.
- Maintain a clean shop, yard, equipment, and vehicle.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License, Class A (combo endorsement) is a plus.
