SUMMARY:Public Invited to Annual Ice Cream Social at Former Governors’ Mansion
DESCRIPTION:The annual Ice Cream Social\, a free family program of music\, history\, and refreshments\, will be held Sunday\, Aug. 13\, from 12-4 p.m. at the Former Governors' Mansion State Historic Site\, 320 East Ave. B\, Bismarck. Seating will be available\, but the public is welcome to bring lawn chairs or blankets. This event is sponsored by the State Historical Society of North Dakota and the Society for the Preservation of the Former Governors' Mansion. This year's event celebrates the history of the West and the people and places connected to the history of the site. The mansion is open for self-guided tours during the social. Throughout the afternoon\, attendees can enjoy free hotdogs and ice cream. Theo Art School is providing face painting from 12 to 3 p.m. Children can also participate in lawn games and receive free potted flowers while supplies last. Entertainment on the west lawn includes the following:   12:30 p.m. Music by Coleen Reinhardt and Friends   1 p.m. National Anthem\, Greetings   1:15 p.m. Old Time Musical Sing-A-Long with Tom Rawerts   2 p.m. Joe Wiegand as President Theodore Roosevelt   2:45 p.m. Music by Coleen Reinhardt and Friends   3:15 p.m. The Magical Bill Sorenson   4 p.m. Music by Coleen Reinhardt and Friends For more information\, contact Johnathan Campbell at 701.328.9528.
